Schools are Scary

Ok, so I'm homeschooled, and don't know what the public school's like, but still...

Ok, so some of you may know that I went for my literacy test today(Thursday). Well in between the tests, I go to the washroom, and there's a dude dealing some drug(crack, dope, not sure) right out of the stall. Not sure what to do-I do "my business"-walk out and run to the office. I told the guidance counselor and he ran to the bathroom and caught one of the guys.

When I mentioned this story to a certain individual, she/he(keep you guessing ;) ) said "welcome to real school." What am I supposed to think about such a statement? I mean is this like "welcome to reality"-I hope not, because no matter what school is-it shouldn't be that. So yeah...

From the stories I've heard from one of my friends who goes to public, yeah, that's reality a lot...

Yeah... unfortunately it's true... but am I supposed to be sorry I never went to public school b/c I'm missing out on "reality"?

Welcome to reality...well, there are a lot of kids out there on crack and what not, that is reality. It's sad...really sad. I haven't had to deal with anything like that yet, thankfully.

Test went well... cept I can't write which was kinda a bummer... How's yours? I just did all the multiple choice then went to the essays...

Yeah really eh Janelle... there's sooo many things we should be thankful for... like the fact I can turn my class on and listen to my teacher talk while I'm curled up in bed :)

But I guess what I was wondering is that is "welcome to reality" really an argument for not homeschooling?

I have to admit it was a big change going to my work place and working with so many school kids....the laugue {sp} they use and there humer and anything like that! Sadly is it reality....but it doesn't have to be that way that is just the way ppl make it! B/c thats what they think it should be for w/e ever reason! You are definetly not missing out on schoo reality....altho i definently don't think its right either to not know what it is like. To stay at home all the time and have NO conection or time with anyone who goes to school adn what not.

Not sure if this is what u were looking for but it felt good to write and get out!
=)

You know...it's good to go to a public school, in a way. Reason I say that is you can show others how...immature etc they are just by your example.

My test went fine, I think. Haa I can't write that well either. I mean, I can, but not on just some random topic. I think I passed though. :-) lol

Thanks Janelle, that's pm what I was asking. Just kinda ticks me when ppl say you don't know reality unless u go 2 public school.

Oh I could write, just not cursive write if you know what I mean. But printing would have taken me like hours.
